Our beginnings

In 2021, our founder Christopher Hotchkiss, a Terrorism Risk Management professional, recognised the need for a simple to use, cost effective Terrorism Risk Management Solution for UK Businesses in light of new legislation related to the Manchester Arena bombings.

As a former Parachute Regiment Soldier, Captain in the Royal Gurkhas Rifles and two time Afghan Veteran, Chris had extensive experience of real world effects of terrorism. After his time in the military Chris worked as a terrorism risk management professional consulting to Fortune 500 companies, the United Nations and World Bank funded projects.

Concurrently, Chris worked with and for successful technology start ups broadening his understanding. Because of this unique blend of experience Chris understood how technology could be used to democratise terrorism risk management and still maintain industry best practice.

Leveraging his background and network, Chris has assembled a team of counter-terrorism experts, Chartered Security Professionals, technology specialists (including alumni from the GCHQ tech start up program), and a Chief Technology Officer with a PhD in computer science to develop the Protect Duty Risk Solutions platform
